Well now, Daddy Blue Jay is protecting his nest again. He does not seem to care for when I mow my lawn. It took me a long 3 hours just to mow the back yard tonight. But I did have the company of Daddy J. I'm not yet sure where the nest is but it's in the gnarled mess of a tree in my back yard. He dive-bombs me and/or the lawnmower. I first noticed him tonight sitting on the fence squawking at me loud enough I could hear him over the mower. Then I had to laugh when he flew off and tapped the top of my head. That seems to be his favorite activity to get my attention. When that's not working, he hops in front of the mower. This will go on just like last summer until the end of July. It's really quite funny.

I had a robin that lived on my back porch for awhile, they had babies and then they left. Sounds like the Jays have a condo.
cersob - The sadness an election official feels when they "certify" the results of an election in which someone runs unopposed.
They're beautiful birds but they are rather aggressive.
We have a Dove in our front yard that does the same thing. Scares the heck out of me every time I get too close.
You should see the ears on my dad's cat Grayson. It's a pitiful site.
Mother said, two of them attacked Grayson at the same time for almost an hour.
And, don't forget that cardinal I named "Little Shit"!!!
He liked to sit on my car door to look at himself in the side view mirror and poop on my door at the same time.
And, that went on for almost 2 years!!!
I figure he either died or finally just got over himself.
I have a CRAZY mockingbird in the back yard that dive bombs me on occassion. If I ever catch him he is going to be grilled medium rare and served with some baby new potatoes!!
I think in the past couple of years more and more birds have grown gigantic balls. I've seen birds dive bomb cats before and the cats are just so shocked that they just run off. My tip to you.. wear a hat ;)
Happy Turkey Day... you need to start blogging again...
Dude, you ever gonna fire this thing back up? Miss your wit and blog world company...
Man that blue jay looks scary! If I see one looking at me, I'm gonna run and be all like "Man that canadian baseball player is trying to eat me!"
Wow! Never had this happen to me. We do have to dive bombers that had babies in the beam on our front porch but no attacks yet!
