Well That Advertising Sucked

Unless you can teleport to just about anywhere on command like Lockjaw from the Marvel Inhumans or Pet Avengers - you missed it. The Richmond VA, SPCA teamed up via the Barber Martin Agency with Wendy's. Up until March 28, 2009 you could have purchased a Wendy's Frosty(tm) key tag and gotten a free Jr. Frosty with every purchase through 12/31/2009. Okay fine, I went into a Wendy's today, you caught me. But I noticed the sign in the store advertising the now, stale promotion. Was it me, did I miss any other advertising anywhere: TV, Radio, Billboards...? You mean to tell me, in order to have known about the promotion at a WENDY'S, you actually had to walk into the stand-alone shop. To me, that was suckalicious advertising. The SPCA should question their efforts. Wendy's should question their commitment to the effort. And well, the ad agency should be fired.

Fabulous (C.O.) and Amaaaaazing!!

The TV show Friends was a really funny show. Why did it take be 5 years into it's run to realize that? Cheers was awesome year one. But it took me until the year 3 to realize how funny it was. And Seinfeld. There's an Irish Christian Brother out there somewhere in this brave world that knows it took me until the FINAL season to realize how hilarious that show was. Why am I always behind the times. It's possible I like to sit back and see if something takes. But how much time and proof does a person need? I tend to be old-school:

Meet Mr. Vegetable Steamer
Okay, maybe not that old school, so instead, meet

When did these come into existence? Man, I love these things. They are so much easier. Birdseye is a more expensive brand that I avoid. There are cheaper generic wonders that do the same thing. Quick and easy and so totally Bachelor-ific!!! Please tell me I'm on the upward swing of this new trend. They're fabulous and amaaaazing. OW! damn-it, I keep steam burning myself though. Someone needs to make protective gloves that keep ya from burning yourself.

Frozen is better?

I was reading an Eggland's Best advertisement today. It stated something curious about frozen vegetables.

Often more more nutrition-packed than fresh.

Why is that?
And while that may be, they're stinking hard to bite into.

Rubbers

I woke up to the news this morning and they said it was going to rain for the next few days. My first groggy thought was we all need to put our rubbers on. Well that woke me up. I hadn't thought of wearing rubber footwear on my shoes since I was a kid. But there it was. *Get your head out of the gutter Michael* Then my day proceeded according to plan:

I listened to Q94's war of the roses on my way to work and heard a man "mooo" at his newly ex-wife.
An 8am call I needed to make never happened as I promised because I was quickly side-tracked into a meeting as I walked in the door to work.
One very important letter went out this morning that should have left yesterday.
Another VERY important letter that should have mailed today will not mail until tomorrow.
I hate having to wait on others.
A work colleague/friend did not come in today. She was sadly sending her beloved German Shepard off to Angel School. Make us proud Rusha!!
The rest of the afternoon I focused on the plentiful easy stuff. My mind did not want to think about the difficult items any longer. So, I delved into the world of "git r dun" and that helped to bring down my work-item count a good bit.
I left work early (yes, still after 5pm) and went off to have dinner with Indigo-Orion and her little cream puff of a darlin' named MM. I had fish, Indigo had chicken and MM had the Dog d'haught with Mac d'chez.
Then I went and purchased two bottles of Chilean wine for a house-warming party this weekend. I am going with one of my work-wives, Melissa.
Then I came home to the Solomonster and he begged to go out cause he had to do his business. Then he came in and begged for treats. Then begged for more. Then MORE. Since I knew this was the game plan, I started out stingy. Being smarter than me, he knew what I was up to.
Now it's time to sleep and I'm not tired.

What kind of bagel are you

I am a Blueberry Bagel

I am outgoing, optimistic, and open-minded.

I find a lot to love in life, and I'm always discovering new things to be excited about.

Of all the types, I'm the least likely to be a picky eater.

I tend to have fresh, home-cooked food for breakfast. Breakfast truly is the most important meal.

Truth?
I hate Blueberry Bagels... bleck
